2006 here I come -Uncluttered

I know I haven't posted a lot the past few days, but I have been trying to organize my house and my studio for the New year. Cleaning, organizing, giving my space more positive energy.
I haven't done a lot of drawing or writing for that matter, I have been trying to focus on the practical stuff so I can enjoy work in the days to come to the max (I hate clutter).

I received another greeting card from an illustrator friend today. All the christmas cards I have received are gorgeous and I feel blessed to have made so many lovely friends the past year.

I also got a note from the post office about a package (?). I will have to go pick it up tomorrow, as the postoffice is closed in the afternoons. That got me thinking about the book (my first book) I had illustrated a year an a half ago after winning a local illustration competition. I have had news that it has (finally) been published and I wonder if that is whats in the phantom package!!
Whatever it is, I love surprises, I'll just have to wait and see...haha!!

De-cluttering feels better then almost anything else! I know how important some of these kinds of 'housekeeping' issues are to permit creativity to flow! (See my latest entry. It was supposed to be a day or so - but turned into a week, but I'm ready to go again now!)

If you want to email me your address, I'd be happy to send you a Christmas card as well. There can't be too many illustrator-holiday-cards being exchanged out there! :-) (tlchang1@hotmail.com)

*Sigh* I'd left my studio clean-up until next year, but I think I may have to follow your examples...before I drown in a sea of paper and clutter...

Maya - you are lovely when you're not upside down or blurred!

I usually leave it till the new year too...but my house and studio was in such a mess it was unbearable...lol.

the "declutter adrenaline" is making it fiddicult (I left this on purpose, as this is actually how I type before I go back and correct things....)to sit in one place and draw today Gretel.

I need to discipline my self again. Any tips are welcome :)

'fiddicult' is actually an excellent word to describe several things...like shaving the backs of your legs or trying to clean a keyboard....

I've started logging in and out of my studio on a calendar! It makes me realise how much more work I should be doing...but it also makes me stay in my seat - I might start getting 'itchy' after 45 minutes, but make myself stay in place for anohter 45 minutes to make the time up. Try it!

That sounds like a good plan Gretel!

I will give it a try from tomorrow and tell you how it goes...usually if I sit in place for an hour or so, the difficulty is leaving the work to have a break....hours pass and I don't even notice...
