lady in waiting...

...and waiting.... and waiting....

Sitting here waiting to hear back from a publisher.

Can't work, or think about anything else at the moment....couldn't even eat lunch....my tummy is all in knots.

Worried that I might have said something I shouldn't have and blown the whole thing.

Tick tock-tick tock...

Checking emails every five minutes....

Drinking lots of tea...

Fingers tied crossed...

I'm in the same boat as you Maya. On tuesday I sent my final illustrations to my publsher. They have taken three months to finish and it was a real rush in the end.

I've been waiting for the phone to ring for three days!...nothing.

Publishers inhabit a different world to us. Things that are crucial and urgent to us aren't quite as vital to them

Oh Chris it is really frustrating isn't it... :(

I've been waiting by the computer all day for that crucial email to come : telling me Yay or Nay to THE question if I have a chance to get a job with them or not...and nothing...

Now I have to wait a whole weekend to find out (although I am guessing what the answer is... :(

Quite off topic here....but may I add your blog to my links?

I haven't heard from my publisher, but we must remember they are very busy people. I've always been a 'glass half empty' kind of a person but I've been trying to change this life-long habit.

If you can trust that only what's best for you will come to you, then you can't be disappointed.

You have great talent, you're getting your work out there. Being positive is what makes for success.

And yes I'd be flattered to be added to your links. You can be the first on my list.

So tell more details about what project is? How long have they had it? How soon did they say they would respond, etc...!

Hi Lorna and Tlc :)
Oh...No, no, no...Tlc no project yet...Just interest from a publishing house about my work. Nothing promised yet. They do childrens picture books and wanted to know more about me and my work.

I sent them an email answering their questions, and then they replied immediately and said they liked to see more then I replied back telling them that my best work is on my online portfolio, and then I waited for a response and...Nothing...

I "blew" it I think..."hits head on monitor hard"

Will not think about it anymore though this weekend....probably send them an email on Monday if they do not write back...

Ahhh, the people beginning with "B"!

Don't worry about them not getting back to you as yet. They will be taking their time showing your stuff to all and sundry, trying to get everyone's opinion from the AD down to the tea boy!

It'll be fine. Your work really fits in with them.

Fingers crossed for you.
