January 31st ...oops...erm... February 1st

I have lost track of time...

is it 1 am already?

Just finished a little doodling with my paints at my desk and feel like a new person...I really think I am addicted to painting. Seriously. I feel I am not 100% "me" when I am away from my drawing. Its scary how relieved I feel as I watch the paint hit the paper.....Like I have been choking and suddenly I get a huge dose of oxygen!

Sorry...another weird moment there...

Anyway...above is another spread from my sketchbook. The pic on the higher right side of the page isn't mine, its a detail from Iznik pottery (courtesy of mr Dean, thank you!)... The other stuff is just more doodles ....

Before I say goodnight, I would like to thank all of you for your support the past few days....Its really helped me....I love you guys!!

x

Your sketchbook puts mine (to deathly boring) shame! I love them! It reminds me a bit of Sara Midda's books - which were basically collections of tiny illustrations with hand lettering. I'd buy a book printed from your sketchbook pages!

Yes, I get sketchbook envy too when I'm looking at Maya's work...really would be worth putting some on your website when you've got time.

I think my "dream job" would be making journals....I've never thought of trying to do a more "professional" (well...I mean tidy and more thought about) one...
Maybe because I enjoy them too much and wouldn't actually feel like I was "working" if I did...
(shocked emoticon goes here: never thought about that before...!)

I think that sounds ideal! And I wouldn't overthink it too much - your spontaneous instincts are superb. "Sketchbooks" are hot property right now... This is worth thinking about!
